Tax Incentives and Rebates for South Carolina Made Easy.
Federal Solar Tax Credit*
The Federal Government offers a Tax rebate of 30% of your total solar system cost. There is no set cap to this rebate. It must be used on the same tax year that the system was installed.
State Tax Credit*
South Carolina has a state tax credit of 25% of the total cost of your solar system. This is capped at $3,500 or 50% of your tax liabilities. These tax credits can be carried out for up to 10 years.
SCE&G Solar Rebate (Residential)
South Carolina Electric and Gas does not currently have any residential solar rebates.
SCE&G Solar Rebate (Nonresidential)
SCE&G offers a rebate for nonresidential solar systems. This rebate is dependent on the size of the system and tax status. Contact us today and we will help guide you through the rebate process.
Duke Energy offers a rebate of $1.00 per DC watt of solar power installed for residential and nonresidential customers in the Duke Progress markets.
Santee Cooper currently has a rebate of $1.65 per watt of AC solar power installed. This rebate is capped out at $9,600 per system. To receive this rebate you must have your system installed by a Santee Cooper Trade Ally. Solar Chief is currently a Santee Cooper Trade Ally.
